Julie, what a beautiful post! I love these photos of your garden in winter side by side with the spring and summer photos of the same areas--what a wonderful idea! The winter season has its own magic, and your area gets enough snow to transform your garden completely, yet the underlying design remains, giving structure to the plantings and individual rooms. I may have to come visit it when the weather turns for the better, to see it in its full glory.
Thanks Elena! You are welcome anytime! We are in Grove City, PA just a couple of block from GCC if you are ever nearby. The snow certainly is a transformation, and one that may be here for a while with this extreme cold this year. Definitely a "real" winter this year!
I like your photos contrasting the growing season with the winter. You've done so much work on your property and it looks amazing in all seasons. I'm already tired of winter (I live in the Southern Tier of New York State) and it's only January. But I have to admit, winter can make for some gorgeous photos. Alana ramblinwitham
So true, but yes, I think that when it snows like this it is the length of its stay that makes my heart faint within me. When it is here and then gone, it is a joy. When it may be here for the next three months... one cannot prepare for that. So photos of greener days are so helpful! Summer will come! :)

Your wintry garden looks wonderful under its blanket of snow, Julie! Spring must feel like a slow unveiling of colorful beauty each year.
I dream of spring from January on, and it is always so sweet. Thanks for stopping by Kris!

Nothing compares to a summer garden in bloom, but the winter pictures have a magic all their own!
So true Stephanie! It encourages me to remember. A good garden plan, though, really starts in the winter.
Love the comparison sets of January / June photos!
...and grateful for all the plant structure that's now in evidence for winter. :-)
Gives us some hope at this time of year :)
