Video Class: Gardening with Redemptive Imagination

What if you could make the garden you have been dreaming about for years?

That is the premise of my most popular gardening class which gives you an introduction to garden design. What if?

Even with your constraints, your small budget, and a little bit of time. What if you could make a space that your family would enjoy for years to come?

In the past year of writing and filming for JWG on Substack, I have released ten gardening classes that have been viewed more than four thousand times. Here is the full class list!

This class was one of the first I released exactly a year ago, and it is a class worth revisiting. I created this class four years ago for the Hutchmoot conference for the Rabbit Room, and then it was also opened up for Christie Purifoy at her The Black Barn Online. I have included the 30 minute video and all six pages of pdf handouts so that you can get going today on new ideas for your own gardening journey.

We will talk about different garden styles, using positive and negative space, adding forced perspective to a small space and much more.

A Class that Sparks Imagination

Some comments from previous class sessions:

“Julie - Thank you so much for this talk! I learned SO much. We recently bought 4 acres and are in the process of building. This is going to help me create a space for my children, my husband, and I to flourish. Thank you!” Jessica S.

“What a beautiful example of stewardship of Creation.” JB

“THANK YOU JULIE! I want to know you. My story this year has been THIS and I didn't even know what to call it. Redemptive Gardening is IT! The Holy Spirit has used it to save me--what a story, and new awareness, and love, and delight it has been. I am downloading everything you have offered here and cannot wait to make your work a part of the thumbprint of mine BLESSINGS!” Hope K.

“Thank you, Julie! I now appreciate all my grandparents did to have an incredible garden...and, now in my 40s, I'm finally getting a taste of why they did what they did. You're to credit for that!” Angie

“Watching Julie's presentation right now. Very helpful for me as I plan our outdoor space. Lots of new awareness!” Donna M.

“I love the takeaway of planting the edge of the lawn to define it... totally revamping my vision for my front yard.” Erin

Semi-formal garden design in the Font Garden at Wollerton Old Hall, UK.

“What a fantastic workshop! My first year at Hutchmoot I stumbled into Julie’s session on this very topic and had no idea that that’s exactly where I needed to be. I came home energized, and we’ve been slowly shaping our outdoor space ever since! But more valuable than the progress in our yard is the change in how I now see our yard—when I look out the window, I’m not discouraged by what is unfinished, I dream about what more we can do. It’s even had an influence on the poetry I’ve been writing, just paying attention to our place here. Many thanks to Julie for sparking my imagination!” Rachel D.

I hope that this class, as well as the other nine new classes I have released this past year, encourage you too!
