
Redemptive imagination for an old shed
When we bought our property in 2013, we inherited an old garage/shed near the back fence. It sat at the end of the original driveway. The south side was falling off due to the very heavy, inflexible metal garage door and also a tipping foundation. (You can where the tilt had cracked the corner trim on the south wall below.) It was useful for mower and bikes, but was in pretty wretched condition, being a better home for mice and chipmunks than anything else. But somewhere along the way I had the idea to redeem this space to make it a pleasant place to work and a productive place to start plants indoors during the late winter/early spring.
We started working on the remodel in September and finished up a few weeks ago, thanks to the mild winter weather.
