Julie Witmer Garden Design & Coaching
Helping people across the US to make their own dream garden
It’s the little issues that can stop us from gardening
Where do you start to create a new garden?
What do you plant first?
How do you take care of it?
There are many questions that home owners have when they begin to think about changing or expanding their own garden. Practical issues can often feel overwhelming. Plants are costly, and water is too. Many people truly want to create a beautiful garden, but they also need a bit of confirmation that they are moving in the right direction. Sometimes they need fresh ideas from an outside perspective!
For the past 16 years, I have been helping clients all over the continental US - from Oregon to North Carolina, Illinois to Texas, Massachusetts to California.
Together we have tackled the big issues of invasive wisteria, basement flooding, and unsafe neighbors. We have discussed which plants to choose so that they will thrive in each location and we have discussed why. We have talked about how to make a garden grow on a single-income budget. We have made charming gardens that the kids and dogs can also safely enjoy.
The best garden advice is specific to your location, and individualized for your needs. One-on-one teleconferences do this by making space for discussion, allowing your questions to be answered.
As gardeners, we are creating works of art within the real life boundaries of biochemistry. No wonder it is a challenging task!
Julie truly loves what she does. She helped us conquer our fears of “where do we begin?” and “what if we do something wrong?” She makes sure your design is planned around how you’d like to enjoy your garden in every season and takes care to provide you with information about your planting zone and climate. We’re thrilled with the progress in our garden and are excited to watch things grow as the years go by.
